Another B2B Sales No-No – Send me a proposal!

How many times have you and your B2B sales and marketing team heard those words.

So you send them a proposal and what happens?

You call them back after a week because you haven’t heard from them. You leave a message and they still don’t call you back.

Then another week goes by – still no response.

CSO Insights, a sales research firm, after interviewing 1200+ companies, has found that only 46.4% of B2B companies met their quota target in 2013, and almost all firms raised quotas for 2014.

They also discovered that 30.1% of deals were lost to competitors, and 23.5% of deals resulted in no decisions. No decisions means that the status quo was chosen over these companies products and/or services.

This usually means that the sales and marketing teams, of these companies, are not explaining their products and services well enough, to move their prospects to make a decision to buy their products/services.

What this really means is that; Well over one-half of B2B sales people don’t know how to sell.
